| NEWS FLASH: MARKET SATURATION |
| It’s a global village,
after all… According to IDC, a market research company that studies Internet usage, there will be nearly 1 billion Internet users worldwide by 2005, comprising roughly 15 percent of the world’s population. That’s good news for adult Webmasters, but only if they can focus their efforts on geographies outside the United States. That wasn’t true two years ago, when the United States accounted for 34 percent of Internet users, with Europe at 29 percent, Asia/Pacific (excluding Japan) at 16 percent, Japan at 10 percent, and rest of world (ROW) at 11 percent. By 2005, the balance of Internet use will shift, with Asia/Pacific rivaling Europe for the highest number of Internet users, while the United States slips to third place. So, as the American Internet’s Dream is about to slow down, adult Webmasters who want to continue to grow must focus on markets outside of the United States and Europe’s the main target nowadays… Why? While 117 million Europeans — around 30 percent of the population — were using the Internet at the end of 2000, this figure is expected to increase to 233 million (almost 60 percent of the population) by the end of 2004. In order to do this effectively, adult Webmasters must build local-language version of their Websites : several languages, setting up billing systems that utilize local banks as well as a network of local advertising vehicles. So, US Webmasters, the keys to success in the European Mega Market are not so far and we’ve got them…Now it’s up to you to jump on board!!!
